Something is better than nothing…

Why do you think you’re not motivated to work out?  Are you perhaps aiming too high and setting yourself up for disappointment?  I don’t know if this is you, but I know a lot of people tell themselves that they’re going to do this or that 5, 6, 7 days a week, then when a couple of days go by without doing whatever it was, they feel down and that starts a spiral of less energy and more disappointment (and sometimes more food).  I suggest looking at each day individually and realistically.  For instance look at what is realistic for you to do exercise-wise on a specific day.  Maybe on a really busy day, all you can do is take a 10 minute walk down your street.  And that’s okay!  (10 will probably turn into 15 or 20 anyway….it kind of happens naturally).  The next day might be a day where you could go take a class or lift weights at the gym; or maybe it’s another walk day, but this time for 30 minutes.  And that’s okay too.  It doesn’t have to be a 6am spin class, yoga or running very single day to be effective.  Something is always better than nothing, and beating yourself up over it is never helpful. 🙂
